The Chargers’ Image Is Priority

Philip Rivers is a great guy!

He doesn't drink, smoke, gamble, do drugs, or engage in suspicious behavior. He is a religious man, a family man, and from all accounts a good father and husband. He is active in charities and community involvement, and there is no doubt he is the face and future of the Chargers franchise.

All those things make him a great guy. But none of those things are the reason I bought his autographed jersey and wear it to the games. In fact, none of that would matter to me in the least if he didn't win games for the Chargers.

I happen to like the fact that he yells at refs after bad calls. Or taunts defensive linemen or opposing quarterbacks. The fact of the matter is, if Rivers wasn't an elite quarterback, none of us would even know his name.
