San Diego Padres Send RHP Chris Young to DL

The San Diego Padres got another dose of bad news, Friday. They placed starting pitcher Chris Young on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Jun. 15. 

The 6'10" right-hander joins teammate and Padres' ace Jake Peavy on the DL. Peavy, however, could be out much longer, with some estimating an an August return.

Padres' general manager Kevin Towers told MLB.com that Young has a right shoulder strain. Young claims to have been feeling discomfort throughout his previous few outings, but felt even more pain after a start last Sunday against the Angels.
