Why the San Jose Sharks Should Trade Jody Shelley

With the influx of young talent coming into NHL as of late, the once extremely young San Jose Sharks now find themselves amongst the older squads in the entire league.

Holding an average age of 28.292, the Sharks are the 27th youngest team in the league. Or in simpler terms, there are only three teams with an older average age in the NHL.

Considering the fact that teams like the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings are much faster due to being the two youngest teams in hockey, the Sharks ought to look for ways to get younger.

One of the ways they can do that is by trading 33-year-old enforcer Jody Shelley in favor of playing 22-year-old rookie Frazer McLaren.
