Nothing has come easy for the game of football when it comes to the New England area. It always has seemed to take a backseat to baseball, basketball, and even hockey. They had their first professional football franchise in 1929, when the Boston Bulldogs came to town. The Bulldogs were actually the Pottsville Maroons, the 1925 NFL Champions who had their title stripped from them in a controversial move by the league.
