Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes to Antonio Gates in a shocking 31-20 upset of the Super Bowl Champs on Sunday.

Rivers was 28-of-37 for 284 yards and Gates had seven catches for 96 yards for San Diego (1-1), which dominated time of possession 42:15 to 17:45. Eddie Royal caught seven balls for 69 yards and the Chargers defense held Seattle to 3-of-8 on third-down.
