Aldon Smith’s Absence Is Crushing Blow for Reeling 49ers

After another decisive loss and Aldon Smith’s indefinite leave of absence from the team, it’s hard to imagine things getting any worse for the San Francisco 49ers.

Smith was arrested for drunken driving on the morning of Sept. 20. He played during the Niners’ Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but is reportedly entering treatment and will be away from the team for the immediate future, per CBS Sports’ Jason La Bleacher Report - San Francisco 49ers
