A.J. Jenkins Must Produce in Preseason to Earn Roster Spot with 49ers in 2013

As crazy as this sounds, second-year receiver A.J. Jenkins is legitimately teetering on the brink of being cut by the San Francisco 49ers.

Jenkins, who was the team's first-round pick in 2012, failed to catch a single pass last year, even though the 49ers had a desperate need at the wide receiver position for the second half of the season and in the playoffs.

This summer, he has repeatedly been targeted by members of the local media as a player who has failed to impress in training camp.
