Here we are in December and two teams who were believed to be the odds on favorites to win their respective divisions outright are fighting for their playoff lives.

At 5-8, the San Francisco 49ers are one game out of the top spot in the laughable NFC West. With St. Louis and Seattle a game ahead of the 49ers, if the Rams lose to the Chiefs and the Seahawks lose to the Falcons, the 49ers will still be in the mix of things, win lose or draw on Thursday.
