3 Players SF 49ers Could Take in the 1st Round of 2013 NFL Draft

After 12 weeks of the 2012 NFL regular season, the San Francisco 49ers have an 8-2-1 overall record.

Only three teams have a better mark. That's the good news.

The bad news—depending on how one looks at it—is that the Niners are sitting at No. 29 out of 32 in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft.

It's safe to assume that the desire of most NFL front office personnel is never to select early on Day 1 of the amateur draft.

In head coach Jim Harbaugh's first draft with GM Trent Baalke in 2011, San Francisco took Missouri linebacker Aldon Smith at No. 7 overall.
