The Rookie Curse: Ekpe Udoh

Just about every year we can expect one rookie of high potential to go down with an injury before the season starts, or in its early stages. We have seen it recently with Greg Oden of the Portland Trailblazers and last year with Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers. Now, we can add Ekpe Udoh to the list. As he is expected to have surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist.

He hurt his wrist during work outs on the 4th of July, and after two evaluations it was decided surgery would be needed. This type of surgery takes on average four to six months to recover, and another three or more months needed of rehab.
