Ron Artest: The Dennis Rodman For Kobe Bryant

The recent reports of the Houston Forward Ron Artest heading to the Los Angeles Lakers was surprising to say the least.

Ron Artest is known for being one of the premier defenders of his time winning the 2004 NBA Defensive Player of the Year. His made one all-star appearance appearing as a reserve the same year he won his one and only Defensive Player of the Year.

Artest is also known for his 'bad boy' persona. On November 19, 2004, Artest had to endure numerous cynicism after arguably the most infamous brawl in NBA history between his old team the Pacers and the Pistons. In the brawl Artest assaulted a fan that later cost him approximately seven million in salary due to a 73 game suspension, which included the the playoffs.
