Phil Jackson at Front of Lakers’ Head Coaching Dilemma

I understand Phil Jackson's health is a concern, but the Lakers should refrain from making Kurt Rambis their head coach.

I know he is knowledgeable on the triangle; he knows the Laker players well. But there's a big difference between being an assistant coach and a head coach.

Leadership is a major requirement to be a head coach—a characteristic which I believe Kurt Rambis lacks.

He was disastrous in his first stint as an NBA head coach. I don't think he has the mental toughness to command Kobe's respect. Without Kobe's respect he certainly won't last long.

Players like Kobe Bryant are sharks; once they smell blood in the water they feast upon their prey.
