L.A.’s 4—1 Series Win Over Orlando Gives Lakers 15th Franchise Title
Facing elimination in game five of the NBA Finals, the Orlando Magic started out fast by building an early eight point lead. The Los Angeles Lakers did not panic and slowly chipped in to the Magic lead. At the end of one quarter, the Magic lead by two points at 28—26.
Leading after the first quarter, things fell apart for the Magic as the Lakers pulled away in the second quarter. The Lakers were able to overtake Orlando and start to build a lead. The Magic couldn't seem to get back in to the game. Los Angeles stretched their lead out to 10 points at the half at 56—46.
