Hey guys, we know contract negotiations sometimes get rough, but I just want to make sure we are all looking at the big picture.  

Lamar, I know this is business. Since a pro athlete can only play for so many years, you need to maximize your earnings, so you don't just want to settle for anything.  

But if I'm hearing correctly, you are asking for $10 million and the Lakers were offering $8 million. They have now raised their offer to $9 million.

There is also the issue of how many years on the contract, but it sounds like the Lakers have tried to meet you in the middle.
