The San Francisco Giants’ Freddy Sanchez Leads a Class-A Bat Explosion
Second baseman Freddy Sanchez continued his injury rehabilitation stint with Class-A San Jose Thursday by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI as the Giants pounded Visalia 21-9.
The 31-year-old is coming back from shoulder surgery. He's headed for a short stay with the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. The Giants expect him to be with the big league club and in the starting lineup next week.
It appears that the Giants will most likely put Mark DeRosa on the disabled list with a ruptured tendon in his surgically-repaired left wrist. That will make room on the 25-man roster for Sanchez.
Sanchez has shown no ill effects from the shoulder surgery while in San Jose.
