San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy's disclosure of the 2012 roster on April 4 points to a paradigm shift in baseball strategy for San Francisco—finally.  

Many lessons can be taken away from the dismal 2011 season, but perhaps the most important one is simply this: you can't get to the postseason on pitching alone.  

This is something that Bochy has known all along.
