San Diego Padres Trade Chad Gaudin To The New York Yankees, Finally

It was announced today that the San Diego Padres have traded starting pitcher Chad Gaudin to the New York Yankees for a player to be named later.

Gaudin has had a sub-par season with the Padres with a record of 4-10 and an ERA of 5.13. Gaudin's final two starts with the Padres really seemed to spell his demise as he gave up nine earned runs in just five innings of work.

The Yankees have been laking a fifth starter for most of the season with the injury of Chen Ming Wanga and are hoping that Gaudin can come in and pitch as the fifth starter and do so effectively.

As someone who has watched Gaudin since his days with the Chicago Cubs, I am unsure that he will be much of an improvement for current fifth starter Sergio Mitre.
