Red Sox-A’s: J.D. Drew Starts Big Inning and David Ortiz Finishes It Off

Trevor Cahill, like Brett Anderson, was cruising against the Boston Red Sox until the bottom of the sixth inning.

That's where things got different.

With the A's staked to a 1-0 lead and plenty of missed scoring opportunties, J.D. Drew stepped up to the plate to lead off the bottom of the sixth.

Cahill had a little bit of a struggle finding the strike zone to Drew and it ended up costing him. With the count 3-1, Cahill threw a fastball in the middle of the plate that was hit out for a solo home run.

The home run itself was just the start for the Red Sox. Dustin Pedroia got on with an infield single and Kevin Youkilis walked to put runners on first and second with no outs.
