Oakland Athletics Call Up Top Prospect Brandon Allen
Following Friday night's ugly 9-1 loss to the Texas Rangers, the Oakland Athletics made a roster move today to add some power to their lineup.
Brandon Allen, acquired in the Brad Ziegler trade from Arizona, will bat sixth and play first base in his Oakland debut.
Allen has split his season among Arizona's Triple-A affiliate, the Reno Aces, the A's Triple-A affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats, and 11 games with the Diamondbacks.
For the Diamondbacks he batted .172 with five hits, three of them home runs, and seven RBI in 11 games.
