NEWS: Jason Schmidt Set To Start on Monday

Former Giants ace, Jason Schmidt is set to start for the Dodgers on Monday versus the Cincinatti Reds after he is activated off of the 60-day disabled list.

Yes my fellow bleacher creatures. The same Jason Schmidt who has made three All-Star teams and was the runner up for the Cy Young Award in 2003. The same Jason Schmidt who left the Giants after the 2006 season to sign a $47 million deal with the Dodgers.

Where has he been?

Schmidt had shoulder surgery in 2007 and hasn't pitched since. After pitching a mere 25 2/3 innings, Schmidt had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and a frayed biceps tendon in his right shoulder that June.
