White Sox Win in 13 Innings On Podsednik’s Two-Out Line Drive Over L.A.

The Chicago White Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-5, Thursday afternoon in Chicago. Scott Podsednik knocked in the winning run in the 13th inning against Jeff Weaver with the bases loaded. The loss gave the Dodgers their first defeated road series in almost two months.

Weaver (4-2) retired the last two batters with the bases loaded, but Podsednik stepped up to the plate then slabbed a line drive towards center field on a 2-2 count to decide the game. The RBI single snapped his 0-for-15 hitting slump.

Weaver allowed two singles by A.J. Pierzynski and Paul Konerko to open the 13th, then intentionally walked Chris Getz to load the bases. Pierzynski went 2-for-6 with three RBI and one home run.
