Padres Take Series In Los Angeles

Padres vs. Dodgers, one of baseball's better rivalry's during the last 40 years. Nothing gets Padre fans' blood stirring like a series against "dem bums."

San Diego stepped into Chavez Ravine on Friday looking to play spoiler this weekend, and one would have to say they accomplished that mission. In taking two of three against the Dodgers, the Pads stated mission of deciding who wins the West seems reasonable.

Los Angeles remains in first place, 4 1/2 games up on San Francisco. The Dodgers have struggled at home of late, dropping several key series, which has allowed the Giants and Rockies to climb back within striking distance. Bigger leads have been wasted, so the Dodgers are hardly a post season lock.
