Like everyone expected they'd do in a do-or-die matchup, the San Francisco 49ers committed to the run and slammed it right down the throat of the St. Louis Rams in their own house. 30-year-old Frank Gore finally had his chance to shine, and boy, did he ever.

The team's all-time leader in rushing rumbled for 153 yards and a touchdown on just 20 carries, even. 

The Rams and their wide-nine simply could not contain Gore, who seemed to be a step ahead of the St. Louis defenders on virtually every attempt. It was nothing but positive yardage all night for Gore, which set things up nicely for quarterback Bleacher Report - San Francisco 49ers
