Jim Harbaugh Agrees to Be Head Coach Of The San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers and Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh have agreed to a deal in which Harbaugh would "graduate" from Stanford and go pro to coach the 49ers.

The deal is worth $25 million for five years ($5 million per year).

Since he was hired by Stanford after the 2006 season, Harbaugh is 29-21 in four seasons as coach of the Cardinal. He took over an abysmal 1-11 Stanford team and quickly turned the program into a winner and bowl contender, starting with his epic upset against USC. In his last game as a college coach, he lead Andrew Luck and the Cardinal to victory in their first ever Orange Bowl against Virginia Tech.
